Letters to Landon: One Month July 7, 2013
My precious little lamb…
It’s been one month since you came into our lives, and what a blessing you have been! You have completely changed my life for the better, and it’s getting harder and harder to remember life without you. I wake up every morning looking forward to snuggling you, and miss you while you’re fast asleep (although I am super happy to have you sleeping because I need to sleep too!). You have shown me a new love, a love I didn’t know before and could not even comprehend. And to think, this is how God loves us. It was hard for me to fully understand that before, but you have made me see that now.
I love your sleepy smiles, your precious little noises, and the way you sleep on my chest with your arms wrapped around me in a hug. I love your tiny little fingers and toes, and those sweet baby lips. I don’t have much experience, but I feel like you’re SUCH a good baby. You are so content, whether it’s in my arms, in your swing, or in your bouncy seat. This may change, but I sure do feel lucky that this is how you’ve been! I thank you so much for it because as you know, your mom didn’t exactly have much experience with babies. 🙂 But I feel like God knew exactly what I needed, and that’s exactly what I got.
You have gained quite a bit of weight this first month…almost 3 whole pounds! You love to rock in your mom’s arms, listen to Baby Einstein radio on Pandora, and listen to your mom read your Jesus Storybook Bible. You LOVE taking baths…they are so soothing for you! You fall right to sleep in the car, which is very convenient! And you absolutely love to cuddle on your mom and dad’s chest. Mom loves that too 🙂
It’s hard to believe you’re already a month old.. I feel like time has just flown by. As I sit here typing this letter to you, watching you sleep, I feel so blessed that I was chosen to be your mom and that I get to watch you grow. Just please don’t grow too fast okay? ‘Cause I’m not quite sure I could handle that. 🙂
(fyi – pillows just for decoration! they do not stay in the crib!)

Beautiful baby, and lovely, heartwarming letter. I do hope you’re planning on saving them for him to read someday. And the muted map on his wall is great, too. One thing, though….I believe conventional wisdom says no pillows in a baby’s crib, so I am hoping that was just placed there momentarily for the picture! Congratulations on a beautiful baby, and good luck in this wonderful new adventure!

Thanks Janice!! And yes, they are just there for decoration! He doesn’t sleep in his crib yet, but when he does they will be removed! I know recommendations are against having anything, even bumpers, inside the crib, and rightfully so! Gotta protect the little ones! 🙂

Not sure how I stumbled upon your site, but beautiful baby boy! Congratulations! I’m pregnant with my third (first pregnancy was twins) and it’s fun to be reminded of the newborn stage. Apart from being super important for children’s safety, it’s kind of nice when you learn the babies can’t have bumpers, blankets, etc. – saves you some $ on those unnecessary cribbing sets!

Thank you Julie! Congrats on your third! And yes, you’re right…it was very nice to save some $$ on all of that pricey, unnecessary bedding!!! That plus a little DIY meant more $ to spend on some cute baby clothes 😀
