Thank you to Samsung for providing us with this amazing fridge! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This post has been long awaited!!! If you remember from waaaaaaay back, you know of our fridge debacle. We moved into this house that was previously owned by an elderly couple who actually didn’t live here (they had a home elsewhere). We moved from a condo and didn’t take our appliances, so we inherited the ones in this home 😉 And maaaaan were they in rough shape. So much so that we replaced the majority of them right away. But the one we didn’t replace because it was still functioning, and well, was their refrigerator. HOWEVER, it was SO SMALL. And with a family of 4, it wasn’t practical. We lived with it for 2 years, but that fridge was the source of so much frustration because it fit NOTHING for our family. Which is why when Samsung offered us their new Family Hub 2.0, we were all PRAISE JESUS HALLULUJAHHHHH! We’ve been living with it for over a month now, so I feel I can give a decent review of how we’re loving it so far!
The Samsung Family Hub 2.0 is the most epic of refrigerators with its connected touchscreen and INSANE capabilities. Here’s some of the features we are loving about this fridge.
1 // The size.
This is probably a “duh,” but when you go from a teeeeeny tiny fridge to this monster, you realize you don’t even eat enough food to fit in it! It’s the PERFECT size for families because it has ample storage. We chose the bottom freezer option because I was sick and tired of my kids opening the fridge doors a million times a day (even with the child lock, my Houdini of a daughter STILL figured it out), but I also like that I no longer have to bend down (bonus being pregnant!) to open it! We are opening the fridge significantly more than the freezer, so it’s been a nice change. The freezer size is also perfect, and I love the double drawers it has inside. I don’t think we’ll ever run out of room with this fridge!
2 // The Flex Drawer.
The Samsung Family Hub 2.0 has this awesome middle drawer option that I highly recommend if you purchase this fridge. You can custom the temperature to your choosing, which means it has the ability to function for multiple purpose. For instance…a wine drawer! A built in wine fridge, what’s better than that?! Since I’m pregnant, it’s currently on the “Deli” option, which is where we store our lunch meat, string cheese, and yogurt pouches for the kids. But you better believe there will be wine in there once this baby arrives!
3 // The touchscreen.
Okay, is a touchscreen necessary on a fridge? I’ll leave you to decide that, but we SURELY do not hate it. At all. In fact, we absolutely love it! That little touchscreen holds a VARIETY of things we use daily. For instance, I can sync my Google calendar from my phone via the Samsung app and it pops up on the screen for everyone to see. It’s an easy way to keep track of appointments and events that we have going on in our family. And my husband can easily view it using the app on his phone, too. He can even sync his calendar as well, if he wanted (he just doesn’t use one so it doesn’t really apply to us). But if you’re a busy family with older kids, this is is perfect because you can see everyone’s schedule all in one place.
Next, THE CAMERA! Yes, there’s a CAMERA inside the fridge that you can access from the app in your phone! Every go to the grocery store without your list (or is that just me?) and wish you could see inside the fridge? Problem solved. You can also set up expiration date alerts when you’re restocking the fridge, AND create shopping lists right on the screen. My husband can easily see what we need by accessing the list through the Samsung app. And added bonus…if services like Instacart are available in your area (they aren’t in my town yet, get ON that Instacart!), you can ORDER YOUR FOOD FROM THE FRIDGE! YES, it does the shopping for you! You can literally click the item you need and it adds it to your cart. It’s insanity! You can even order takeout!
We also LOVE the White Board option. I mainly love this because it keeps my kids quiet for more than 5 minutes as I’m cooking dinner. They always request to “color” on the new fridge! There’s also options to create “to-do” lists for the family to see.
Our, hands-down, favorite part? MUSIC. We can access Pandora or even Spotify right from the fridge and jam out during dinner prep. I was impressed at the sound, too! The kids love when I play their kid songs during breakfast in the morning. Pat loves acting like he can moonwalk across our kitchen floor, haha. I love rocking out during nap time. 🙂 You can even sync compatible wireless speakers to the Family Hub so you can hear the music throughout the house!
There’s also an option to stream and mirror whatever is playing on your TV, if you have a compatible Samsung TV! Ours is a little old, so we can’t access that option, but I’m sure husbands would love that during Super Bowl 😉
There are SO many apps on the Family Hub that I haven’t even touched on, but it’s really amazing what it can do. You can also talk to it to instruct it on what you need, AND it will even read you step by step recipes (there’s an entire recipe portal with All Recipes right on the fridge! And it will add ingredients to your cart, too!). It’s really awesome!
There are several other unique features that I really like, like alerting you if the doors don’t shut completely or if the water filter needs to be changed. At this point, I honestly can’t say ONE bad thing about the Samsung Family Hub 2.0. We’ve only been living with it for a little over a month, but so far no complaints! We’ve had zero issues with the screen or any of it’s options. We went with the 4-Door French in Black Stainless Steel, which is proving to show significantly less fingerprints than our other stainless steel appliances.
The Samsung Family Hub 2.0 is available at MANY retailers, and I’m sure they’ll have some great deals going on! I found some great deals at Home Depot that I’m linking below for you!
If there’s any question you have about the fridge that I didn’t answer, LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW and I’ll be sure to get back to them! I totally get appliance shopping is super stressful, so I’m happy to help! 🙂
